Hypogonadism & Hormonal Abnormalities

What is male hypogonadism?

Male hypogonadism is a condition where the body does not make enough testosterone—the hormone that plays a key role in energy, mood, sexual health, muscle mass, and bone strength. Low testosterone can happen at any age, but it becomes more common as men get older. Common symptoms may include:

Fatigue or low energy, Decreased libido (sex drive), Erectile dysfunction, Mood changes, irritability, or brain fog, Loss of muscle mass and strength, Decreased bone density, Fertility problems;

Why does it happen?

There are two main types of hypogonadism:

Primary hypogonadism – when the testes themselves cannot produce enough testosterone.

Secondary hypogonadism – when the brain (pituitary or hypothalamus) does not signal the testes properly.

Both types can be diagnosed through blood tests and hormone evaluation.

Why management matters If left untreated, low testosterone can affect not only sexual health but also long-term wellbeing, including bone health, mood, and overall quality of life. Identifying the cause and starting treatment can help restore balance and reduce these risks.
